Bayanne Kanawati, MPH

Bayanne Kanawati is the Program Manager of the Center for the Prevention of Hate and Bullying (CPHB) at CAIR-CA. She completed her Master’s degree in Public health (MPH) at California State University of Long Beach with a concentration in Community Health Education. During her studies, she engaged in research exploring the impacts of hate and discrimination on physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Bayanne has been working in non-profit since 2017. Before joining CAIR-CA, she was a Prevention Coordinator at Behavioral Health Intervention and Support Services (BHIS) in Orange County. She provided social emotional learning services to K-12 students and served as a primary liaison with district and school management personnel to implement the objectives of the program, tailored to the districts and school’s needs. She also planned, implemented, monitored, and evaluated culturally relevant behavioral health prevention and intervention services for youth, parents, and school personnel using evidence-based practices.

Bayanne is committed to continue serving her community by gathering data on those impacted, developing anti-hate training programs, and educating the public on how to report, address, and heal from hate.

In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering at her local masjid, traveling, and spending time with her loved ones.
