The USDA has just approved the California Department of Education’s request to provide non-congregate (to-go) meal kits for fasting students during the month of Ramadan. However, school districts must opt-in to this free program. This initiative helps ensure all students have equitable access to nutritious meals while honoring their religious observances.
To advocate for your school or district to implement the program this year, CPHB has created a letter template for parents to send to their principals and school district officials.
